Brite Solar Technologies is a start-up company with Research & Development offices in Greece and Marketing & Sales in the U.S and The Netherlands. We are active in the field of new composite organic / inorganic nanostructured materials for energy applications. Brite has developed technology for solar and electrochromic (dynamic) glass, that is technology and cost competitive and covered by international patents. Our technology aims at manufacturing active glazing for greenhouses and glass buildings. Brite is in the process of developing a pilot production line for its products in China. Our technology has been awarded in Greece and abroad for the innovation it introduces in the field of nanomaterials for production, as well as saving energy with a positive impact on the environment.  Based on inkjet printing material deposition the process can be implemented in traditional glass factories without expensive facility retrofits. Furthermore, the solid electrolyte used in the Dye Sensitized Solar Cell technology (DSSC) is produced at ambient conditions without special measures for purity thus drastically reducing the manufacturing cost compared to other 3rd generation solar cell approaches.

Brite Solar is dedicated to the deployment of advanced nanotechnology materials to create new types of architectural glass.

Brite Solar has also developed electrochromic glass (EC) technology that allows the control of solar radiation into building spaces via electrical control of the glass which changes the transmittance from 70-5% and vice versa.  This way, windows can provide control of the direct and reflected sunlight in the building by providing a variable optical connection with the outside world thus enhancing human comfort of the indoor environment, while at the same time they adjust the solar energy transfer from the window, thus reducing the cost of building heating and cooling. The technology is innovative and groundbreaking in global level as it provides adjustable control over solar heat gain, 18% reduction in energy costs vs low-E glass and elimination of glare while increasing inhabitant comfort. Our EC glass cost is market disruptive.

Brite Solar Technologies is a nanotechnology materials company that develops new materials and glass solutions for energy applications. Based on inkjet printing, our manufacturing can be implemented in traditional glass factories without expensive facility retrofits.

  Our target audience

Our immediate end users for our solar glass are greenhouses owners and crop farmers that need to improve their energy consumption while increasing crop production. In addition to the greenhouse owners, other users will benefit from our solar windows: greenhouse manufacturers, as well as eco-building owners and inhabitants.

With our electrochromic glass we plan to target the building sector in the building application market by demonstrating its ability to reduce the energy costs associated with cooling homes or glass buildings.
